Woody's Classic Covers # 16

The ever-helpful WALLACE WOOD CHECKLIST only lists 5 issues of Woody's self-published fan club newsletter, THE WOODWORK GAZETTE. I, myself, only have the first 4. Found on E-Bay, however and labelled as a portfolio is this cover for a 6th issue featuring Nudine and baby man, Pip. Does anyone know if this was actually distributed or was the prepared cover used to promote a new portfolio for potential employers?

  1. WOODWORK GAZETTE #6 was published in Summer 1981 by Richard Pryor (Collector's Press). It ran 24 pages and was made up mostly of a letter from Wood, several full page drawings, a numbers of ads (Sally & Odkin Pendants, Meef poster, original Wood art for sale...) and a reprinting of the serialized Wood Checklist that had appeared in earlier issue. I believe the intention of the issue was to raise money for an ailing Wally.

The 5th issue, btw, was very few pages and was a smaller size...8.5 x 5.5 inches (8.5 x 11 folded in half).
