Thanks for posting this. I really enjoyed Wood's 1970's era stuff just as much or better than anything else he did. As he got away from drawing every rivet in a picture, something essential was gained. This page composition reminds me of my favorite Prince Valiant page where he first gets the singing sword and fights on the arched bridge.

ReplyDeleteSure is a beauty of a page. Woods work is always a pleasure to behold, but it sure is a treat to see Artie Simeks lettering up close too.
